Seahawks soccer ties Marianna 3-3

Sporting a new coach, the Seahawk boys soccer team got off on the right foot, with a 3-3 tie against Marianna at home Nov. 15.

Junior Gideon Dively had two goals, one on a penalty kick, as well as an assist, A third goal was scored by junior Will Chipman.

“We had only 14 players on the roster, as a few players were out, and our boys played extremely hard, with almost all of them playing the full 80 minutes,” said coach LeGrand McLemore. “Our conditioning paid off, as we were able to compete head-to-head against a larger team with much more depth on their roster. 

“I was very proud of our defense in particular and would like to recognize senior Luis Ramirez and junior Will Luberto for their outstanding defensive performance and composure under pressure,” he said.



Rounding out the roster are seniors Joshua Greer, Dawson Fisher, Jesse Mock, and Ethan Shirley; juniors Reece Juno, Esteban Bernabe, Brayden McCall, and Corbin Pritchard; sophomore Saqueo Aguilar; freshmen Nolan Alford, Kingston Williams and Owen Juno; and eighth grader Nathaniel Cabrera.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
