Eastpoint egg hunt launches Easter season

This Saturday will be Gulf County’s turn, and April 20 is Easter Sunday, but for Franklin County, the sheriff’s annual Easter egg hunt Saturday morning ushered in the spring holiday.

A large gathering of children, carrying baskets,  were ready when the whistle blew to gather eggs, mostly plastic, from the grounds off of Highway 65.

Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith stood watch with his crew of staff, including Lt. Palmer who invited the Easter Bunny to attend, as parents urged their kids on.

In addition to plenty of candy, and lots of photo opportunities, the families enjoyed hot dog lunches and inflatable rides.
