Alfred Alphonsis Clark, 64, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5 after a long battle with cancer. Al was born in Montgomery, Alabama and lived his earlier years in Apalachicola, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, William Franklin Clark; his mother, Dorothy Lawler (Clark) Butler; and his brother William (Billy) Franklin Clark Jr., and grandparents Rosa Lee and William Henry Clark and Alfred and Rachel Lawler.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Garrett Clark, his sons Nathan Wesley Clark, Seattle, WA, and Thomas Mitchell Clark, Clinton, TN; his daughter, Jennifer Clark, Eastpoint, FL; his sisters and brothers-in-law Theresa Clark Chandler, Tallahassee, Florida, Diane Clark Rogers and Tim Rogers, Panama City Beach, FL; Rosa Lee Clark Gilbert and Curtis Gilbert, Panama City, FL; his grandchildren Robert Levi Thompson and Cheyenne Smith, and several great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.

He will also be missed by his Tennessee family, his mother-in-law Lee Garrett of Knoxville, TN; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Dennis Bailey and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Salina Garrett, Knoxville, and sister-in-law Jan Garrett of Maryville.

Al was loved by all who knew him. He was a loving father, husband, brother and friend and would do anything for anyone. He was an oysterman and fisherman in Apalachicola, a manager for Orion Media, and ran a successful lawn care business for his customers in Anderson County, Tennessee, Garden Valley Lawn Care. He was a hard worker his whole life and was still on a zero-turn mower trying to take care of his customers up until the last few weeks of his life. He took great pride in his work and considered his customers to be his friends.

He enjoyed tinkering on his equipment, riding motorcycles, fishing, camping, and spending time with family. Al was a Catholic and he was looking forward to seeing his family and friends who lit the path before him.

Services will be held in Apalachicola, Florida at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on October 26 at 11 a.m. A celebration of Al’s life will take place at Indian Pass Campground in Port St. Joe, Florida on Sunday, October 27 starting at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made via Venmo to @smokycyn or PayPal to gardenvalleylawncare@gmail.com to be used for their sons’ educational expenses.
