PortOberfest

Dust off those lederhosen and join the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce  for PortOberfest  — Wurst Fest in The Joe — on Saturday, September 24 from noon until 4 p.m. EDT.

The free event, which will be located at City Commons on Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe will feature live music, German beer and bratwurst.

 

Farmers market Saturday in Apalachicola

The Farmers Market in Apalachicola will be this Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mill Pond Pavilion at the end of Market Street. The market offers local seafood, produce, honey, homemade breads, pies, and other regional specialties every second and fourth Saturday.

Want to play Pickleball?

Pickleball meet-ups occur several times weekly in various Gulf County locations. 

Play at Frank Pate Park on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays starting at 9 a.m. EDT. Play at the Mexico Beach Municipal Playground on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CDT. And play at Salinas Park on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 9 a.m. EDT.

Art exhibition continues in Carrabelle

The Gallery at Rio Carrabelle has opened an art exhibition featuring the art of Roger Leonard, primarily marine landscapes. It will run through February. 

Leonard graduated from Ringling School of Art in Sarasota in 1974 and worked in commercial art for over 20 years and then turned to fine art. He lived and worked in a studio/home on Dog Island for 15 years, and now divides his time between there and his home and studio on River Road in Carrabelle.
