Littlest All-Star Darlings score district title
Sometimes, its the littlest ones that make the biggest
sound.
The Dixie Youth League Franklin County All Stars in the Darling
division, for ages 7-8, emerged victorious at last weeks district tournament
in Bristol.
We never left the winners bracket with a 3-0 record to be district
champs, said Leigh Sheridan, head coach of a volunteer staff that includes
assistants Jessica King, Michael Dasher and Shiloh Spivey.
Teammates on the squad include Trista Wheeler, Shelby Melvin,
Kelsey King, Leeah Ward, Amelie Cannon, Preslee Dasher, Kimber Severns, Lexi
Griggs, Swayzee Lane, Hallie Zingarelli, Paisleigh Taylor, and Molly Thompson.
In Friday nights first game, the girls downed Wewahitchka
win 21-3, triumphing by the 15-run rule.
In game 2, it was Blountstowns turn to be clobbered, this
time by the 10-run rule 20-9.
A return match in the championship game 3 against Wewa was
again a 15-run rule romp, 20-4.
