Homecoming rides off to see the wizard
In an enormous parade Friday afternoon in Eastpoint, the community celebrated Franklin County High School’s 2021 Homecoming, which this year had the theme of “The Wizard of Oz.”
Led by parade grand marshal Sheryl Clouse, of St. George Island, an energetic volunteer in causes throughout the community, and brought up at the end by Principal Laurence Pender and his two sons riding Tennessee Walking Horses, the parade was an energetic tribute to community spirit.
Later, at halftime of the game against Aucilla Christian, the large crowd celebrated the homecoming court, which included freshmen Ryan Brown and Garyson Millender; sophomores Andrea Cruz and Gideon Dively, and Lexci McNair and Ethan Kembro; juniors Miranda Diaz and Ethan Shirley, Autumn Loesch and Parker Mock; and Kylee Smith and Chase Crum; and seniors Meredith Alford and Bryce Gilbert, Sage Brannan and Larry Winchester, Genesis Jones and Cameron Nash, Maddison Whitten and Carter Kembro; and the couple who were selected as the Queen and King, Saunti Turrell and Jamal Robinson.
