‘In Faith’ in concert Saturday at Riverfront Park

Fellowship Baptist Church of Apalachicola is inviting the public for a free bluegrass gospel music concert Saturday at the Riverfront Park in downtown Apalachicola.

Music will be provided by the group In Faith on Saturday, July 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. On Sunday morning, at 10:30 a.m., all are invited to the church, at 10 Ellis Van Vleet St., for a special time of worship led by In Faith, followed by a covered dish lunch immediately afterwards.

In Faith, an all-acoustic instrument group, plays and sings an array of bluegrass, Southern gospel and old-time country gospel songs.

The group is made up of longtime Southern gospel singer and soloist Jeff Schroeder, from Panama City Beach, who plays guitar and provides strong vocals. He joined seasoned bluegrass performers Rodney Outlaw, playing mandolin. and his wife, Kay Outlaw, playing the acoustic standup bass fiddle, from Panama City Beach.

The resulting sound is a lineup of happy, joyful and inspirational gospel songs. In addition, seasoned bluegrass banjo, guitar and bass player, Greg Youngblood, from Southport, provides hard-driving banjo licks for this group’s sound.

The goal of In Faith is to bring back old-time instrumental songs accompanied by solid gospel lyrics with hopes that the listening audience will be encouraged to live “in faith.”
