Churches combine for Christmas Eve celebration

hi Y’all, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Peace on Earth, Good Will to All!

Wow, Mother Nature is reminding us that it is winter. Stay warm and safe this beautiful holiday season.

Lanark had some very festive holiday events. Saturday the Lanark Village Boat Club treated everyone to a sausage, biscuits and eggs breakfast. That evening they had their traditional annual members-only holiday party which decorated beautifully and the food was delicious and plentiful. You know you don’t have to have a boat to enjoy joining this wonderful organization in Lanark.

After dinner some of us went straight to the American Legion Post 82’s Holiday Ugly Sweater karaoke party which really finished off the evening. Santa was there, lots of ugly sweaters and great friends. They were lucky to have Greg Kristofferson (best DJ ever) and wife Brenda La Paz (the beautiful accomplished wife). As most of you know, they are great supporters of this wonderful organization. Ugly holiday sweaters were everywhere, but the crowd chose the ugliest sweaters worn by Rodney, Jeff and Vickie. Congratulations!

The Lanark Village Association hosted a holiday Sunday covered dish at Chillas Hall.  All were invited. We had a great crowd with great food. Thank you all for coming.

On Christmas Eve the Lanark Community Church will be combining their Celebration of Jesus at the Mission By The Sea Church on Alligator Point, 772 Alligator Drive. The event will start at 4 p.m. on Saturday. All are welcome to come and join this time of Joy with the message, food and beautiful Christmas music. For more information call (850) 962-2010.

Our amazing group of firefighters worked hard Monday in the cold weather to continue to get our fire station functional. Again, Thank You To All for Stepping Up in this Capacity That Will Bring Our Lanark – St. James Fire Department Back to Us. So if you are in the area and want to make a difference, please sign up to fight fires, come to the next published training or contact Mr. Robert Amick, St. James/Lanark Village Fire Department coordinator at rsamick4@yahoo.com.

Watch out for those bears and keep your garbage contained. Thank You.

Love Lanark!
