Martinas celebrate platinum wedding anniversary
Happy 70th wedding anniversary to Bill and Burnell Martina.
Bill Martina and the former Burnell Brock were married on August 1, 1954 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Apalachicola by Father Robert O’Sullivan.
They have five children, Monica Lemieux (Leslie), Marcia Johnson (Robbie), Janice Hicks (Billy), Kenneth Martina (Glenda), and Kevin Martina (Patty). They have 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Bill worked in the seafood industry, owned two shrimp boats, and crabbed until he was in his late 80s. Burnell retired from the Franklin County school system, having worked as a secretary and school attendance officer.
Both are still very independent and active and have been blessed with good health. Happy anniversary!
