Carrabelle Food Pantry recognizes Millender Seafood
Most people know Millender & Sons Seafood as a fixture in the Carrabelle community, having provided quality seafood to its customers since 1942.
But what they may not know is Millender & Sons Seafood has also been a great supporter of the Carrabelle Food Panty for over 20 years, by allowing the pantry to use its cooler system to store their overflow items before the weekly distribution.
“They never hesitate to say ‘bring them over’ when we call,” said pantry board member Kansas Norris, a lifelong resident who made a Nov. 13 presentation inside the seafood store. “It is because of this dedication to our community that it is our great honor to present this token of our appreciation to David and Stephen Millender.
Sebrina Brown, the newly elected mayor of Carrabelle, was among the many board members and volunteers in attendance. She expressed her sincere gratitude for the Millenderrs’ contribution to the food pantry. Brown has been a volunteer at the food pantry for years and can often be seen loading food in boxes on Thursday mornings.
