Lady Seahawks sport .500 record

The Franklin County Lady Seahawks soccer team closed out 2024 with a 6-6 record as they look forward to the January 2025 portion of their schedule.

Under the direction of head coach Anna Bull, the team was able to post four consecutive wins in late November and early December, but then two consecutive losses against Lady Bulldog squads, on Dec. 17 in Perry against the Taylor County, and Dec. 18 at home against Marianna, meant they would finish 2024 with a .500 record.

The team opened Nov. 5 at Wakulla as the Lady War Eagles shut out Franklin County 6-0.

On Nov. 8 at home, Franklin County endured their first shutout against Taylor County, falling 7-0.

But four days later at home, the Lady Seahawks notched their first win of the year, defeating Rickards Raiders 2-0.

Seniors Jade Lively and Layla Acree each scored goals, and sophomore Sheyanne Russell as goalie got the credit for the shutout win.

On Nov. 14, at Quincy Munroe, the Lady Seahawks got their second win of the year, defeating the Lady Bobcats 4-1.

Lively scored all four goals, and this time, sophomore goalie Brooklyn Klink got credit for the win.

A day later, the Lady Seahawks lost a tight 2-1 game at home against the Rutherford Rams. Sophomore Wendy Bernabe scored the lone goal, and Klink was tagged with the loss.

On Nov. 19 in Port St. Joe, Franklin County lost another 2-1 game, this time to the Lady Tiger Sharks. Eighth grader Amelia Wolferseder scored the lone goal for the Lady Seahawks, and Klink took the loss.

Franklin County then went on their four-game win streak, beginning with a 7-1 win at home on Nov. 21 against Gadsden County.

Lively scored four goals, and Acree two, with one goal each from Wolferseder, Bernabe and sophomore Lilliah Millender.

Next came a 2-0 win at home on Dec. 3 against the Godby Lady Cougars. Lively scored both goals, and Klink and Russell shared in the win.

Then, on Dec. 10 at home, the Lady Seahawks defeated Munroe for the second time this season, this time 3-1. Lively scored two of the goals, and Wolferseder one, as Russell got the win as goalkeeper.

The fourth straight win came two days, also at home, as the Lady Seahawks shutout Richards, again 2-0. Lively scored both goals, and Russell got the win as goalie.

The streak was snapped Dec. 17 in Perry, as Taylor County downed Franklin County 6-1. Wolferseder scored the lone goal, on an assist from Lively, and Klink took the loss as goalie.

On Dec. 18 at home, Franklin fell 2-1 to Marianna. Lively scored the lone goal, and Klink and Russell shared the loss as goalies.

Through 12 games, Lively has scored 16 goals, Wolferseder four, Acree three, Bernable two and Millender one.
