Lots of Valentine events Friday and Saturday

Hi Y’all, Happy Valentine’s Day week! Here’s to having a happy day no matter what you do. Take yourself out for a treat or sit on the beach and take in the beauty of the place where we live.

The large tree in Lanark on Warren Street belonged to the Lanark Village Association, it was taken down for the safety of the community. It was dead and could have been a danger to those around it.

The Lanark Village Golf Club had its meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 6 p.m., held at the American Legion, Post 82 on Oak Street. The club voted on this new date, time, and location last month; please put it on your calendar and join us next month. The club is asking for donations for its monthly yard sale, held on the first Saturday of the month.

Business as usual for this week; however, it is the cold and flu season and soon to be allergy season. Know the difference. If you are not well, please do not attend the group activities and be mindful of flyers that may be posted at Chillas Hall.

Lanark will have its offering of Happy Valentine’s Day events, on Friday, Feb. 14, American Legion will have Valentine’s Burger Night with music by John Jeremiah.

The Lanark Village Association is having a gathering at Chillas Hall from 6 to 9 p.m. with desserts and a dance for a $5 donation. This is BYOB. You don’t have to be a member to come. Stay close to home and have fun.

The Lanark Village Boat Club will have its Valentine’s Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 15 starting at 9 a.m. and going to 11 a.m. All are welcome. The asking donation will be $10, still the best deal in town, not to mention the fun of visiting and meeting people.

The Legion will have its Valentine’s Karaoke on Saturday, Feb. 15 starting at 7 p.m.

All are welcome and you don’t have to sing, just come and have fun.

Lanark Village organizations’ events can be found posted at Chillas Hall in the clear-covered outside bulletin board.

Love Lanark
