Allman re-elected as circuit’s chief judge

Franklin County Circuit Judge Francis J. “Frank” Allman has been reelected as chief judge of the 2nd Judicial Circuit, beginning his second term on July 1, 2025. 

The circuit serves Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, and Wakulla counties.

“I am honored to continue serving as chief judge,” said Allman, 64. “The role presents challenges, but it is deeply rewarding to support our dedicated judges and justice partners in ensuring a fair and efficient court system for the people of the 2nd Judicial Circuit. I am humbled by the confidence my colleagues have placed in me through this reelection.”

Allman is the 12th chief judge of the 2nd Judicial Circuit. His second term will run from through June 30, 2027. In addition to his administrative duties as chief judge, he also serves as the assigned circuit judge for Franklin County.



Allman received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and his law degree from Florida State University.

Appointed to the bench in 2016 by former Governor Rick Scott, Allman was reelected without opposition in both 2018 and 2024. Before his judicial appointment, he served as an assistant state attorney in Gadsden and Leon counties for nearly 19 years.

A resident of Quincy, he is the first chief judge of the 2nd Judicial Circuit to reside outside Leon County. He is married and has two adult children.
