James “Jim” Hill McNabb

Date of Death

James “Jim” Hill McNabb, 81, of Apalachicola, Florida, passed away on June 6, 2024. He was a hardworking individual who also knew how to enjoy life to the fullest. His early formative years in Virginia included the establishment of many life-long friendships. Jim was a lover of all things fine and fun, never meeting a stranger, and built long-lasting relationships with many.

Jim had a successful career as an entrepreneur and served as the owner and President of Complete Display Systems Inc. based in Atlanta until 2023. Outside of work, he was an avid golfer who found joy on the course, traveled extensively, and was known for his dapper appearance and charm, a true southern gentleman.

In 2021, while visiting his daughter, he fell in love with the quaint, small town of Apalachicola and the friendly people, ultimately moving there and becoming the self-proclaimed “Unofficial Mayor” of Apalach.

He is survived by his only child, Tonya.

Jim’s life will be celebrated at the First United Methodist Church on June 24, 2024 at 10:00 am with reception to follow at the historic Gibson Inn in Apalachicola, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Charity Fund.
