Miriam Elizabeth Silcox of Sugar Hill, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born on December 9, 1926, in Apalachicola, Florida where they grew up as the oldest of two daughters. She worked as a Telecommunications Specialist for the General Services Administration for most of her career. She was actively involved in church activities wherever she lived and was a devout Christian.

Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Harris Pace and John Gaston Pace, her sister Marilyn Baur, and her oldest child, Earl Morgan Martin, Jr. as well her two husbands, Earl Morgan Martin, Sr. and Alton Dudley Silcox, and numerous aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Martin Clark and Melanie Martin Arpaio (Jerry), seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Miriam had a quick wit and was unafraid to speak her mind, and for that she was truly loved.

The family would like to thank Benton House Senior Living and Spirit Hospice for the care and compassion they showed her in her final days.

Interment will be with her husband Alton Dudley Silcox at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida and no public service will be held.
