Steven “Bear” Boatwright, 74 of Eastpoint, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Port St. Joe. Steven was born July 17, 1949, in Eastpoint to the late Levi and Eva Mae Boatwright where he spent his working years as a commercial fisherman. Steven loved being on the water and fishing as well as hunting in his spare time. He also enjoyed fellowship at his church and singing.

Other than his parents, Steven is preceded in death by his wife Cheryl Boatwright in 2013 and his sister, Gearldene Boatwright.

Survivors include his daughters, Shawnna Martina and her husband Derek and Stephanie Cook and her husband Steven; his sisters, Dene Nordbrok and her husband Steve, Sharon Boatwright and Phyllis Appleby; his grandchildren, Austin, Kerry and her husband James, Garrison, Brennen and Randal and his wife Mary; his great grandchildren, Brayden and Jenson along with a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends that knew him.

Services to honor Steven’s life were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Redemption Point Church of God with Reverend Larry Sterling, Scott Shiver and Bobby Shiver officiating. Interment will followed in Eastpoint Cemetery.
