Seahawks sink St. Joe 66-32
EASTPOINT – When Port St. Joe and Franklin County meet on the basketball court,. it isn’t often you get a running clock.
But that’s what happened about midway through the third quarter Friday night at The Nest, after sophomore Ethan Kembro nailed a three-pointer to put the Seahawks up 55-19.
They would go on to win 66-32 and leap into the regular season lead in the district.
The Seahawks led from start to finish, after senior Jamal Robinson and junior Owen Poloronis hit back-to-back three-pointers to open the game.
Poloronis, no longer on minutes restriction foillowing an early season ankle injury, went on to nail six treys, four two-pointers, and four free throws on the night to post a career-high 30 points.
Robinson finished with 11,, Kembro with 10, senior Jeremiah Stephens and junior Jayden Rhodes each with six, and sophomore Ethan Kembro with three.
Tiger Shark junior Lajuan Zaccaro led the team with 15.
St. Joe’s record fell to 3-6 on the year, while Franklin County rose to 6-9.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
