Chapman Class of ‘59 holds 63rd reunion

The Chapman High School Class of 1959 held their 63rd class reunion at the lakeside home of Jerry and Cece Paulk of Panama City, and of Opp, Alabama on  Nov. 9, 2022.

Those in attendance were Tommy Huckabe, Sandy Howze, Penny Hicks Worden, Jerry Paulk, Lucretia Kirvin Biddle, Wilma Wright Reed, Gynelle Barber Bush, Rosemary Anderson Murphy, Betty Scarabiun Lang and Myrtle Anne Paul Kahiapo. Special guest was Milan Bloodworth.

“It was so great to see everyone, and a good time was had by all,” said Bush.

Those missing were Toonie George Waddell, Jimmy Buzzett, Carme McLean Middle, Faye Gordon Jones, Darrell Barfield and Charlotte Smith Sunderbruck. Sadly missed were those who have died, Willis Estes, Weems Robbins and Bobbie Joe Ray.

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
