Spring Plant Sale
The Port St. Joe Garden Club will be holding their Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, April 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT at the Garden Center, located at 216 Eighth Street in Port St. Joe.
The proceeds support the many programs hosted by the garden club and scholarships for graduating high school seniors planning to study horticulture or a related field and beautification projects.
Bay Area Choral Society to perform Friday and Saturday
The Bay Area Choral Society will perform its spring concert, featuring music from Sunday gospel to musical theater this weekend.
On Friday, March 31, the concert will be at First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe, and then on Saturday, April 1 the society will be performing at Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola. Both concerts will be at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through any Bay Area Choral member, online at eventbrite.com or at the door.
Easter egg hunt at lighthouse Saturday
The Crooked River Lighthouse is hosting its outdoor Country Market this Saturday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1975 Hwy 98 West, at the foot of Carrabelle’s lighthouse. An Easter egg hunt has been added to the fun and will start at 11 a.m.
The market features local vendors offering produce, grass-fed beef, baked goods, batch roasted coffee, art, and handmade goods and craft items. Salt Air Farmers Market
Shop local farmers and artisans. Let your family enjoy art pieces and the amazing flavors of fresh veggies, sweet Tupelo Honey and vine-ripened fruit. The Salt Air Farmers Market is open the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT in downtown Port St. Joe.
Marina Cove Block Party
The businesses in Marina Cove in Port St. Joe will be holding a block party on Saturday, April 1 featuring happy hour specials from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. EDT at Keeper’s Bistro and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. EDT at the Haughty Heron.
The event will also feature live music.

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
