First Friday Sip and Shop in Port St. Joe
The Gulf County Chamber of Commerce and a handful of local businesses will be hosting a First Friday Sip and Shop event on Friday, July 7 on Reid Ave. from 5 to 7 p.m. EDT. Enjoy adult beverages, light hors d’oeuvres, great deals and good times.
Carrabelle to host First Friday event
Rio Carrabelle Gallery is hosting another fun First Friday art event on Friday, July 7 from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Carrabelle. This event will be held in celebration of the opening of a new exhibit featuring artist Cyndi Thau. Guests can also browse new artwork recently put on display by Joe Kotzman, William Owen, Pat Moore, Barb Ryan, Roger Leonard and Bo May. This Little Town exhibit
The Joe Center for the Arts is hosting “This Little Town,” a multimedia exhibition on display through July 28. “This Little Town” offers a variety of content consisting of 58 juried works by area artists which creatively express the Port St Joe milieu through drawings, paintings, and photography.
The Joe Center for the Arts is located at 201 Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe. This Little Town is open to the public on Wednesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT.
Apalach Farmers Market Saturday
The Apalachicola Farmers Market is this Saturday, July 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mill Pond Pavilion at the end of Market Street. For more info email farmersmarket@cityofapalachicola.com.
Museum presents D-Day exhibit
Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum in Carrabelle is presenting a special exhibit Commemorating D-Day, on display until Saturday, July 15. The museum is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. There is no charge for admission, but donations are gladly accepted.

Meet the Editor
David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
