Seahawks fall to Taylor County

The Franklin County Seahawks lost 9-6 to Taylor County Friday night.

The Seahawks struck first with a run in the second, but the Bulldogs came back with three in the bottom of that inning.

Franklin County tied it up with two more in the top of the third, and both teams scored two in the fifth.

The Seahawks jumped ahead 6-5 in the top of the sixth, but the Bulldogs plated four runs in the bottom of the inning to secure the win.



Senior Logan Bentley pitched four innings, giving up five runs, three of them earned on six hits, while striking out two and walking three.

Senior Cody Abercrombie gave up two hits and four unearned runs in two innings of work, while striking out five and walking three.

At the plate, the Seahawks had nine hits, led by Bentley’s two hits and two RBI, senior Terry Proctor’s two hits and one run batted in, and senior Will Luberto’s two hits, including a double.

Freshman Sadiq Jones had a double and drove in a run, as did Abercrombie. Senior Brayden McCall had a hit and scored a run. 

Proctor, Jones and Luberto each stole a base. The team committed four errors.
