Culture Crawl biggest and best yet
Carrabelle Cares and the Carrabelle History Museum would like to say a big thank you to those who helped make this year’s Annual Carrabelle Culture Crawl a successful event. We are grateful to the many people who worked at this event and to all our partners for welcoming our guests so warmly.
Thank you to all the hundreds of visitors and locals who came out to explore Carrabelle during the Carrabelle Culture Crawl this year. The streets were filled with explorers, historians, shoppers, future artists, music lovers and diners who were joined by local artists, musicians and Fishy Fashion characters. We hope you experienced something and somewhere new that day!
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Franklin County Tourist Development Council, Duke Energy, Franklin’s Promise Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, Centennial Bank, Inovia Consulting, Weems Memorial, Air-Con of Wakulla and Coastal Realty for their generous support of this event.
Special “thank yous” to the City of Carrabelle streets and road department, the Carrabelle Police, and the neighbors Coastal Realty, Crowder, A Taste of Korea, Marine Street Mercantile, Gina’s Flowers and a big kudo to Rock and Soul for their “Mining for Rocks” experience for kids.
One highlight of this year’s Crawl was the Carrabelle History Museum opening a new exhibit on “Tate’s Hell, The Legend, Tate’s Hell, The Place.”
A big hit this year was the variety of vintage vehicles on display – cars, trucks and motorcycles, thanks in part to the support of the Forgotten Coast Cruisers and other owners. During the morning of the Crawl, the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air held a Quickdraw event on the Marine Street Pavilion, which made the perfect beginning for the day.
Thanks, as well to our wonderful musicians and artisans who filled the streets with fun! Joan Matey and the cast of the Fishy Fashion Show, Greg Daniels demonstrator of fishing cast-net throwing and musicians Frank Lindamood, Tom Magnan, Bog Lilies, Susan David with Boats a Rock’n, Cody Barber and the fabulous DJ Beanie Baby.
This was our biggest and best Carrabelle Culture Crawl yet. We thank the volunteers at all the locations who worked so hard to make this weekend happen. Nothing would happen without you. We offer our sincere gratitude for the tireless effort, passion, creativity, time and dollars offered by this weekend’s volunteers and generous supporters.

Meet the Editor
David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
