Apalachicola man injured in Bay County crash
An 81-year-old Apalachicola man suffered minor injuries on Thursday evening, July 4 when he was involved in a traffic mishap in Bay County.
According to a press release from Troop A of the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a sports utility vehicle about 7:23 p.m. southbound on County Road 389 when a 52-year-old Panama City man, driving eastbound on East Baldwin Road, ran the red light at the intersection of 389.
The front of the Apalachicola man’s vehicle collided with the left side of the Panama City man’s sedan.
The Panama City man suffered serious injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
