Lady Seahawks even record at 6-6

Prior to the cancellation of last week’s Sept. 26 contest at Wakulla Christian, the Lady Seahawks varsity volleyball team had won three of their last four outings, to even their record at 6-6.

In a tournament Sept. 14, Franklin County fell 2-1 to St. John Paul II, as they won the first game 24-23 but then were defeated 25-20 and 15-13.

But following that, the Lady Seahawks peeled off three straight wins, beginning with a hard-fought 3-2 victory at home against Wakulla Christian.

Franklin County won  the opening game 25-17 but then lost 25-20 to even up the match. The Lady Seahawks lost the third game 25-22, but came back to win the fourth 25-12. In the fifth and deciding game of the match, Franklin County prevailed 16-14.



On Sept. 17 at Quincy Munroe, the Lady Seahawks won three straight, 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15.

On Sept. 19 at home against Florida A & M University Developmental Research School, Franklin County once again had to go to five games before prevailing 3-2 against the Lady Baby Rattlers.

Franklin County dropped the first 25-21, but came back to knot the affair with a 25-23 victory and to pull ahead with a 25-17 win in the third game.

But the Lady Baby Rattlers tied it up again with a  25-19 win in the fourth game, with Franklin County taking home the match with a 15-11 victory in the decisive fifth game.
