Organizations need working caring board members
Hi Y’all, Happy Veterans Day week.
The elections are over, it is time to settle down and be kind to your neighbors. Even in a small area like Lanark we have disputes. Being ugly to your neighbors is not the way that you solve who is going to be president of the United States. You must choose your environment. I choose working hard to make our village a great place to live, and praying for our president. Get involved with your community.
Friday night was a special Burger Night for the American Legion Post 82 in Lanark. All veterans received their burgers for free. Making the evening more special was music by Bat Bennett. He is really a fun entertainer.
Joan Matey, one of our amazing Lanark local artists, has done it again. The Lantern Fest at the Crooked River Lighthouse was beautiful. Thanks to Joan and all the other volunteers for what you do for the community.
If you want to get involved, go to the meetings of the organizations that you are a member of, as the time for voting is drawing near (December). All the organizations need working, caring people to be on their boards. Nominations are being taken now. If you would like to help, make Lanark what it can be, put your name in the hat. If you are already a member of the organization, in some cases you must be a member for one year and in good standing, you can run for a position on the board.
There will be meetings this week of most of the organizations.
The Lanark Village Association will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Chillas Hall, starting at 6:30 p.m. ET (Change of date due to voting and Veterans Day)
Lanark Village Golf Club will have their monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the American Legion Hall, starting at 5 p.m.
The Lanark Village Boat Club will meet on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Boat Club building, starting at 6:30 p.m.
All the above-mentioned clubs are in their nominations for boards process.
The boat club’s pancake breakfast will be Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. Join in for the food and the fun.
The Legion will have Karaoke with Hope on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Legion Hall in Lanark from 6 to 8 p.m. Food truck to be announced; you may call the Legion at 850-697-9998 after 4 p.m.
Just a reminder, the LVA boat storage renewals have been mailed out and will be due by Dec. 31. To keep your spot, send those renewals in. Lots are available to Lanark residents as well as residents outside of the Lanark area. We have lots available for boats, RVs, cars, trailers, etc. Our prices are very competitive.
Love Lanark
