Quilters host Holiday Bazaar Saturday
Hi Y’all,
Happy Thanksgiving!
I am so thankful for my family, my home, my friends, and the life God has given me.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, the Lanark Village Wandering Star Quilters will have its Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET at the Lanark Village Boat Club, 2364 Hwy 98. The quilting ladies have been working on many amazing items and have invited many local vendors and artisans to join the event. There will be soups and sandwiches, lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and baked goods. For more information call 406-660-0760.
With it being Thanksgiving week, there will be some differences in our schedules in the Lanark area. Let’s start with the following cancellations: Game Night on Tuesday, Bingo on Wednesday, Farm Share at the Legion on Wednesday (call 850-697-9998) after 4 p.m. ET to get their operating schedule, and LVA Coffee Time will be canceled on Thanksgiving Day along with Thirsty Thursday. The American Legion will not be having Burger Night on Friday, Nov. 29.
What’s happening? Wednesday, Nov. 27 the American Legion will have its Thanksgiving dinner. American Legion groups members and their families are invited. Call the above number for details on times and what to bring.
On Thanksgiving Day, the Lanark Village Association will have its annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the Lanark area community. We have limited space for this dinner/covered dish and there is a sign-up sheet in Chillas Hall for you to sign up. You can also email me if you want to sign up, when we meet our limit, we can’t serve any more people. Those of us working on this dinner are thrilled with the response.
While we are feeling thankful, please fill up the boxes for the Christmas Toy Drive by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the American Legion Post 82 in Lanark. New, unwrapped gifts are needed, and there are boxes at the Legion and Chillas Hall. This is a great time to bring gifts for the children when you come to dinner.
Vote! On Monday, Dec. 2, the Lanark Village Association will have a members’ meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. at Chillas Hall. The voting for the 2025 LVA board members will be that evening, and a quorum is needed to have this vote. Come to vote; you choose who you want on the LVA board. At this time, the vote will be by ballot. Only 2024 members who joined by Oct. 31 will be eligible to vote.
Don’t forget to secure your trash from feeding the bears. They know it is Thanksgiving.
Love Lanark
