Legion Post to host Christmas party Saturday
Hi Y’all,
Christmas is coming with lots of cheer, partying, and praising. No matter how you choose to celebrate this Christmas season, my wish for you is that it is a safe, happy time.
Some of our Lanark residents took a trip to the Tallahassee National Cemetery for the laying of wreaths in honor of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. We thank those who participated, there were many wreaths donated, and many volunteers to lay them.
What a wonderful time we had at the Carrabelle Boat Parade of Lights and Fireworks. I loved the new location for releasing the fireworks. The festivities before the parade were great. If you didn’t go, you should put it on your calendar for next year.
The Lanark Village Boat Club has its members meeting on Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m. ET at which time the new board will be voted on. Please plan to attend. Also, they will be having their monthly breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m.
American Legion Post 82, 2316 Oak Street in Lanark will have its Christmas party, with singing with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. ET. Plan to have dinner at the Murillos Filipino Food Truck. All are welcome!
Thoughts and prayers go out to Susan Lynn and her family on the loss of her husband, Larry Lynn, who passed away Dec. 6 after battling a long-time illness. Larry was a long-time resident who was a joy to know. He loved their big family, and they loved him. He was a sweet friend and a good neighbor. He loved feeding the small animals and loved his little dogs and they loved him. Larry will be missed. Larry’s obituary can be found on franklincounty.news.
Love Lanark
