Seahawks, 13-10, ready for post season
With their record having dropped to 13-10 after falling in two of their last three games, the Franklin County Seahawks boys basketball team knows they’re going to have to post their finest game if they aim to make a playoff run.
After enduring their second regular season loss to Port St. Joe, Ray Bailey’s Seahawks downed Liberty County in Bristol 59-34 on Jan. 25.
Junior Jamichael Miller led the team in scoring with 15, with freshman Braelin Morris nailing 12, and freshman Dre North 11. Sophomore Sadiq Jones scored 7, and junior Neo Robinson and sophomore Jeremiah Allen each 5. Freshman Kayden Drake had 2.
Miller and Jones led the team with 11 rebounds each.
On Jan. 31 at Mosely, the team lost 56-23, after getting shut out in the third quarter 23-0.
On Saturday night at home, the Hawks lost 55-37 to Chipley.
Franklin County opens the post season Monday, Feb. 3 at home against the 3-19 Jefferson County Tigers.

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
