Izzy opens her cafe

Following a whirlwind soft opening last month, the new Izzy’s Cafe, owned by Isabel Pateritsas, marked a grand opening June 5 with a ribbon cutting by the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce.

A descendent of the Nichols’ family, known for their stewardship of the Owl Cafe in its early years, Pateritsas, shown snipping the ribbon in photo above, across from her mom Callie Nichols, has located her cafe at 146 Avenue E, across from the Apalachicola library and the Piggly Wiggly at the traffic light at 12th Street.

The cafe offers Grab-And-Go specials as well as dine-in, and is open from 7 to 10 a.m. for breakfast and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch. For more info, call (850) 370-1236.
